Your tasks
- Food technology specialists process raw materials industrially into food and beverages.
- During your training, you will learn processes such as separating, mixing, crushing, shaping, heat treatment and cooling. You will process raw materials according to specified recipes and refine them with additives such as flavors, binders, colorants and vitamins. You will also control and monitor the processing and packaging systems. Strict safety and hygiene regulations apply to all work steps. You will therefore check the quality of the products, take samples and evaluate them in the laboratory. During the production process, you will check the food in terms of quality, appearance, smell, taste and packaging.
- Once you have completed your apprenticeship, you will have many opportunities for further training and a wide range of jobs in the food industry, both in Switzerland and abroad.
