to be a part of Ricola?
That's what you can achieve with us.
What does it take to turn an initial idea into a Ricola product that delights people around the world? Your flair for flavour, your curiosity and your food technology expertise. As part of our strong R&D team, you will develop new formulations, evaluate prototypes for quality and the distinctive characteristics of Ricola products, and take your ideas through to the first production run. Along the way, you will help shape the future of our products and bring fresh ideas to our established range. You enjoy contributing to the team and bringing our values to life through collaboration. You can look forward to a varied working day, with our Swiss alpine herbs always at its heart. Your mision:
- Develop new sweet confectionery products – from initial formulation through prototyping and scale-up to the first production run
- Optimise and modify existing products, finding solutions that deliver on taste, appearance, functionality, raw materials and cost
- Evaluate new raw materials and active ingredients, incorporating promising developments in ingredients, manufacturing processes and technologies into your work
- Assess prototypes and scale-up samples using your trained senses, experience and analytical methods, and evaluate the results of stress and stability tests
- Clearly document your development work and test results, ensuring compliance with food legislation
- Represent Product Development in innovation projects, make technical decisions and keep stakeholders involved throughout the journey to the finished product
- Work closely with Product Management, Marketing, Procurement, Regulatory Affairs, Production, Quality Assurance and Controlling to bring good ideas to life
- Take on key responsibilities within the team, such as maintaining raw material inventories, keeping our systems up to date and supporting sensory testing
How well-versed are you in these areas?
- A degree in Food Technology, Food Engineering, Process Engineering or a comparable qualification
- At least five years of experience in food product development, ideally in confectionery
- Sound knowledge of formulation and prototype development, sensory evaluation and scale-up, along with a good understanding of raw materials, manufacturing processes and food legislation
- A passion for experimentation, an eye for emerging trends and the drive to continually improve products
- A structured, independent approach to work and the ability to balance quality with commercial requirements
- Enthusiasm for collaborating across functions and sharing your ideas and expertise
- A very good command of German and English, both written and spoken
- Experience with SAP-based formulation systems and sensory evaluation tools is a plus; knowledge of herbs, medicinal plants or extraction processes is also welcome
That’s something you can look forward to.
